    Details of Disappearance

  • Wilde was a junior and a pre-medicine major at the University of Wisconsin at Green Bay at the time of her disappearance, having transfered there from the West Bend campus. She last spoke to her family September 23, 1998, after she got into a minor car accident. She was not seriously injured in the accident. The other person involved in the accident called Wilde's apartment that evening to work out damages. The next day Wilde's father, who lives in Mayville, Wisconsin, called his daughter to wake her up in time for classes but received no answer. He drove to Green Bay and reported her missing. Wilde was last seen wearing eight small gold hoop earrings in each ear.

  • More than a week after Wilde's disappearance, her car was discovered in the parking lot of a Green Bay sports bar. There was no sign of Wilde at the scene, but her purse and cellular phone were locked inside the trunk. Some evidence pertaining to her disappearance was also found in the vehicle, but police have not said what it was. Some authorities believe the car had not been at that location for the whole week.

  • Wilde is a native of Campbellsport, Wisconsin and a graduate of Campbellsport High School, and her mother still lives in that area. Wilde's family says it is uncharacteristic of her to leave without warning. Her aunt had offered to take care of her child once it was born, so Wilde could finish school. She wanted to become a doctor.

  • Police suspect foul play in Wilde's disappearance and have done several unsuccessful searches for her body. Her family has suspicions directed at the father of her unborn child, who has not been ruled out as a suspect. No one, however, has been charged with any wrongdoing in Wilde's case. This case remains open and unsolved.

  • $15,000.00 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
